13.09.2009 CER Silverstone 2009 - Results and video ... back

The last race of the CER Series had a field of almost 60 cars. Some of the new cars on the grid were raced by some of the quickest drivers from the Orwell Supersports Cup, like John Burton or Doug Hart. One other highlight was Bobby Rahal in his Lola.

During the year the competition increased very much. In 2008 there were two cars below 1:56min lap time in qualifying. This year thirteen cars managed to be below this lap time in qualifying. Brunn Racing's Sauber C5 was one of them. For the race the team decided to take an easy start, trying to run consistent lap times. After the pit stop Philipp was on John Burtons tail who finished 2nd overall at the end of the race. One lap later Philipp was forced to park the car as part of the seat mount had broken off. George Tuma and John Starkey had a troublefree run, posting the second quickest lap time of all Porsche 911.

Although the Sauber C5 did not finish the race, the team is very pleased with the performance of the car as it was able to keep up with the quickest 2 Litre Sportscars. All the teething troubles have be sorted out. Further performance potential has been identified and can be integrated into the car for the next season. Details < SAUBER C5 >
