The second race of the CER season took place during the Spa Classic weekend. CER was split into two fields. Brunn Racing ran one of the Sauber C5's, the Porsche 3.0 RSR and the 3.0 RS Group 4.
It was an eventful weekend for many teams including Brunn Racing. Philipp Brunn tested new tires and engine parts in the 3.0 RS. Both changes were positive and improved the best lap time to 2:41.3. In the second qualifying he ran wide in Stavelot caused by a sudden mechanical fault and could not avoid the barriers. Unluckily the team was not able to repair the car in time for the race.
Philippe Scemama's Sauber had a problem on the engine in qualifying one. After late night work the team managed to get the car ready for the second qualifying. Philippe qualified the car on P8 on the grid. During the race he improved his position and was forced to stop after three quarters of the race most likely due to a problem on the crank sensor.
George Tuma had a fault- and troubleless weekend. He countinuously improved his lap times (fastest lap of the weekend at the end of the race) and finished 6th overall in the GT1 class.
