25.08.2009 CER Nürburgring 2009 - Results ... back

Further improvements on the Porsche 3.0 RSR and the Sauber C5 brought both cars up in the result lists of all sessions. George Tuma and Jim Pace shared the RSR. Qualifying went very well - quickest Porsche 911 on the track. In the race they finally finished 7th in the GT2 class, only to be beaten by three BMW M1 and three Porsche 935.

The Sauber C5 improved again compared to the last race in Algarve. Philipp posted fasted lap in the first practice session. For the qualifying the team changed the rear springs as the balance of the car was not right yet. The Sauber C5 qualified 3rd overall. In the race the car ran troublefree, as high as 2nd place overall. Onyl Jean Marc Luco in his Porsche 936 pulled away. After the pit stop as failure on the rear suspension forced the car to retire from the race. A finish on the podium would have been possible. Still the Sauber C5 had the fastest race lap, which is very promising for the next race at Silverstone.
